Designing Levels

Designing multiple levels was a big challenge. To ease the process, I designed a system that helped in creating levels more efficiently.

Tiles:

Tiles hold the game pieces in a grid. Each tile has its value for its position inside the grid. Positions are numbered in X and Y values. Each tile can hold only one game piece at a time. They make the structure of any levels, Tiles can't be moved or changed in the game.

The X and Y value of the tile is defined by a numerical value that decides its position on the grid.

A value of (1, 2) indicates the x position of tile 1 and the y position of tile 2.

Layout Design:

To make the levels even better, I created different systems that give me more control over how each level is played out from the start.

Starting Tiles:

This feature allows you to add any number of tiles to the grid, each of which can contain a game prefab. For example, you can have an empty game tile that enables you to arrange tiles in a way that is no longer limited to a traditional grid. Each tile must have an assigned x and y position and can hold only one prefab at a time.

Starting Game Pieces:

This feature is similar to the starting tiles system, but instead of using game prefabs, it allows the addition of game pieces such as special colors, color bombs, and other pieces.

Starting Blockers:

This feature is similar to others, allowing the addition of game blockers like Choco and collectables. It specifically adds blockers to levels, making them more challenging.
